Her Royal FIVEness Turns Five: A Birthday Fit for a Queen

We just celebrated Rosie’s 5th birthday in the most royally enchanting way—with a theme fit for a queen: Her Royal FIVEness! It’s hard to believe our littlest love is already five. As many of you know, I absolutely adore planning children’s birthday parties, and creating a magical day full of sparkle and wonder for Rosie and her friends was a true delight. These special celebrations are always a highlight of our year, overflowing with joy, laughter, and the kind of memories we’ll treasure forever.

The Theme and Location

When I asked Rosie what kind of party she wanted for her 5th birthday, she didn’t miss a beat—“A royal party!” So we embraced the magic and created a whimsical Her Royal FIVEness celebration fit for our little queen. Think crowns, purple tulle, sparkling details, and all the royal touches a five-year-old could dream of.

We chose to host the celebration at Flaxton Gardens, nestled in the stunning Sunshine Coast Hinterland. It was the perfect venue for a princess party—elegant, picturesque, and full of charm. With sweeping views, manicured gardens, and a beautiful indoor space for dining and dancing, it offered the most dreamy backdrop for Rosie’s royal moment. The team at Flaxton Gardens was so accommodating and helpful throughout the planning process, making it a stress-free and seamless day. It truly felt like stepping into a storybook kingdom.

Our Party Planner

To bring Rosie’s royal dreams to life, we had the absolute pleasure of working with Sparkles and Co, a Sunshine Coast-based event styling team who truly knows how to turn magic into reality. From the moment we shared our Her Royal FIVEness theme, Kylie embraced the vision and elevated it beyond anything I could have imagined.

Every detail—right down to the florals, balloons, table styling, and regal touches—was flawlessly curated (though Kylie didn’t supply all of these she really helped to pull the vision together.) Kylie did supply the table set up, chairs, all of the furniture, plates, party bags, even a pegasus pony and so much more! She brought creativity, professionalism, and heart to the day. Her passion for creating beautiful, bespoke events shines through in every element, and they made the planning process feel effortless and fun.

Thanks to Sparkles and Co, we were able to step into a world of royal delight, giving Rosie the birthday party of her dreams. It meant the world to me to be able to soak in every moment with her, knowing that all the behind-the-scenes magic was in the most capable hands.

And Speaking of Pegasus…

And speaking of Pegasus… no royal celebration would be complete without a magical steed—and Rosie’s couldn’t have been more perfect. Her eyes sparkled with joy as Cherry the Pegasus pony trotted into the gardens of Flaxton, complete with wings and the sweetest, most gentle nature. Styled to perfection by Sparkles and Co, Cherry looked like she’d galloped straight out of a fairytale and into Rosie’s royal birthday dreams.

The children were absolutely enchanted. They took turns brushing her mane, adding sparkly touches, and riding her through the gardens like true princes and princesses. C

Having Cherry back for Rosie’s 5th birthday felt extra special. She’s become a little tradition in our celebrations, and her magical presence never fails to make the day unforgettable. The Pegasus ponies truly brought Her Royal FIVEness to life, adding a sprinkle of fantasy and a whole lot of heart to Rosie’s big day.

Florals Fit for a Queen

The floral arrangements for Rosie’s party were nothing short of breathtaking, thanks to the talented team at Blooms of Noosa. They created the most gorgeous, on-theme blooms, thoughtfully designed in shades to perfectly complement the Her Royal FIVEness palette.

From the centrepieces on the high tea table to the floral accents throughout, every arrangement felt lush, elegant, and full of whimsy. The flowers added an extra layer of magic to the overall styling—bringing softness, colour, and a truly royal touch to the celebration.

Blooms of Noosa’s attention to detail and ability to capture the essence of the theme so perfectly made the space feel like a fairytale garden. Their beautiful work helped bring Rosie’s royal birthday vision to life, and I couldn’t have been more thrilled with how it all came together.

A Backdrop Fit for Royalty

To bring the Her Royal FIVEness theme to life in the most picture-perfect way, we turned to the wonderful team at Little Palm Events Co, who created a truly show-stopping custom backdrop and balloon garland. Designed in shades of regal purple, it was the ultimate statement piece and the perfect setting for all those special party moments.

The balloon garland cascaded in purple tones, and all different sizes. Paired with a beautifully designed custom backdrop featuring Rosie’s royal title, it made for the dreamiest photo spot and backdrop to the high tea table.

Little Palm Events Co always brought such creativity and polish to their work, and this setup was no exception. It was the perfect blend of fun and sophistication, tying the whole party space together and adding just the right touch of royal wow.

The Royal High Tea

No royal celebration is complete without a decadent feast, and the team at Flaxton Gardens delivered the most delightful royal high tea for Rosie’s special day. Set against the lush Hinterland backdrop, the spread was as beautiful as it was delicious—fit for a little queen and her court of tiny guests.

Rosie’s favourites took centre stage, including sweet macarons, lemon meringue pies, and her beautiful birthday cake, surrounded by towers of treats and elegant platters. The kids also loved the more classic party picks like golden sausage rolls and crispy hot chips, which were devoured in between games and pony rides.

The presentation was just as magical as the menu itself, with everything styled to perfection to match the royal theme. Flaxton’s team thoughtfully catered to both children and adults, ensuring there was something for everyone to enjoy. It was such a joy to see Rosie and her friends nibbling on sweets, sipping juice, and feeling like true royalty.

This stunning high tea added the perfect touch of elegance and indulgence to Rosie’s Her Royal FIVEness celebration, tying the whole day together with flavour, style, and a sprinkle of sweetness.

The Cake & Royal Cookies

No royal celebration is complete without a show-stopping cake and the sweetest of treats—and Sweet P Cakes and Cookies, led by the incredibly talented Ellena, once again delivered pure magic for Rosie’s big day.

Upon arrival, each guest was greeted with a beautifully decorated crown-shaped cookie, lovingly crafted to match the royal theme. They were almost too pretty to eat—almost!

When it was time to sing “Happy Birthday,” Rosie beamed over her specially designed. On trend and utterly regal, the cake was covered in delicate piping in her party colours of purple and yellow, with dainty royal touches throughout. Inside, it was a delicious white chocolate and raspberry creation—Rosie’s favourite!

Ellena has been a part of so many of our celebrations, and she always gets it just right. The cake was not only breathtaking but incredibly tasty. Both kids and adults couldn’t get enough.

Royal Games & Princess Fun

What’s a royal celebration without a real-life princess? One of the most magical highlights of Rosie’s party was a very special guest—Rapunzel from My Royal Party! Dressed in her iconic gown, beautiful hair and glowing with fairy-tale charm, Rapunzel enchanted the children from the moment she arrived.

She led the little royals in all the classic party games, including pass the parcel and musical statues, keeping the children giggling and dancing with delight. Her warm, playful energy made every moment extra special, and she even stayed to do face painting, adding sparkly designs and colourful creations that the children proudly wore for the rest of the day.

It was such a joy to see the kids completely captivated by her storytelling and games. Rapunzel brought a beautiful mix of fun and fantasy, allowing me to relax and soak in the joy on Rosie’s face as she played with her friends and her very own princess guest.

The Royal Invitation

To set the tone for Rosie’s royal celebration, the incredibly talented Jess from Little J Designs created the most stunning invitation. Following the Her Royal FIVEness brief perfectly, Jess brought the theme to life with elegant fonts, soft pastel hues, and regal touches that made it feel truly magical.

Rosie was absolutely delighted with her invitation and proudly handed them out to her friends with the biggest smile. Jess’s eye for detail and creative flair always add something extra special to our events, and this invitation will definitely be a keepsake in Rosie’s memory box for years to come.

Crowns, Tiaras & Pretty Dresses

Every little royal guest looked the part at Rosie’s Her Royal FIVEness celebration, thanks to the most beautiful floral crowns and regal accessories, all sourced from Little Lacey Co. Each girl was gifted a delicate floral crown to wear on the day and take home as a special keepsake, adding a whimsical, garden-party charm to the celebration. Rosie wore a sparkling tiara, fit for a true birthday queen, and absolutely beamed with pride.

Rosie and her big sister Chloe looked like real-life princesses in their stunning dresses also from Little Lacey Co. The soft colours, dreamy silhouettes, and thoughtful details made them feel so special—and they twirled and danced the day away in true royal style. It was such a joy to see all the girls feeling confident, beautiful, and completely immersed in the magic of the day.

Capturing all the magical moments of Rosie’s royal celebration was our incredibly talented photographer, Nicola Holland. Nicola, who is not only a dear friend but also Rosie’s godmother, has been photographing our family for nearly a decade. Her deep connection to our family brings such warmth and authenticity to every image.

With her skilled eye and gentle presence, Nicola beautifully documented every detail of Rosie’s Her Royal FIVEnessparty—from the sparkling Pegasus pony to the joyful games and sweet little moments in between. Each photo feels like a page from a fairytale, preserving the wonder of the day for us to treasure forever.

Videography by The Social Storyteller

This year, we had the joy of working with The Social Storyteller, who beautifully captured the essence of Rosie’s Her Royal FIVEness celebration through video. Their presence on the day allowed me to do something I often miss out on—actually be in the content. Instead of holding the camera, I got to be fully present, soaking up every magical moment with Rosie and her little guests.

From the arrival of the Pegasus pony to Rapunzel’s games and the sweet royal high tea, The Social Storyteller captured it all with heart and creativity. The video content is something we’ll treasure forever—each clip tells the story of a day filled with love, laughter, and sparkle. I’m so grateful to have these memories not just in my mind, but beautifully edited into a keepsake we can look back on for years to come.

Party Favours

Rosie’s guests were treated to the sweetest send-off with beautifully curated party favour bags, lovingly put together by Kylie. Each bag was a gorgeous lavender purple, perfectly on theme with Her Royal FIVEness, and filled with thoughtful treasures that added a magical finishing touch to the day.

Inside, the children discovered DIY “paint-your-own” castle necklaces from A Time To Be Sensory, which were a huge hit and gave them a creative keepsake to enjoy at home. There were also sparkly makeup kits from Oh Flossy, perfect for a bit of royal pampering. To complete the bags, Kylie added flower seeds—a sweet nod to growth and magic—and lollies for a little sugary delight.

These carefully chosen favours were the perfect way for each little guest to take a piece of the magic home with them, and a beautiful reminder of a day spent celebrating Rosie’s reign as Her Royal FIVEness.
